Walkthrough

We don’t want to leave our customers guessing about how our process works or how long it takes. Here is a walkthrough that covers every step of the process. If you need more information please don’t hesitate to contact us today.

Cloud 9 Audio Walkthrough

What’s the process Like? Is there a walkthrough of the steps?

Use email or the contact page of our website to send us the following information:

  • Artist Name
  • MP3 Music Sample – soundcloud link or email attachment is fine.
  • Links to Reference Tracks – examples of how you want your mix to sound.

I will listen to your music and reference tracks for ways I can improve them. I will analyze them and communicate any concerns before we get started. Review the tips I send and make any final changes to your song.

I will send you the following:

  • a Paypal Invoice for 50% of the total Project Cost
  • a Link to a Private File Upload Page

You:

  • Upload your files after you make any final changes desired.
  • Pay the invoice.

I begin working on your music!

When you send your song into be mixed, please include instructions such as

“make my vocals sound more like that famous singer I like”

or

“I want the bass to sound really distorted and fuzzy.”

Bad examples would include anything vague like

“can you make the drums sound better?”

or

“I don’t like the way it sounds.”

Although I do wish I was a mind reader, the better you explain what you want, the better the finished track will be. You should provide similarly high-quality information when requesting revisions too.

What happens next?

Most of the time, you will love the first mix audion MP3 we send to you. Sometimes you just need a small change to the work that was done. We work with our clients on a feedback and revision cycle for minor revisions like these.

Revisions

What are revisions?

If you don’t like the first mixdown or master I send you, you get two (2) revisions on each. A revisions is intended to provide a small change as to what was originally requested by the client. Major changes will be charged at a rate of $30/hr. After receiving an MP3 audition mixdown or master from me, you must either approve it if you happy with it, or send me back a revision request with each change in the following format:

  1. Name of Song
  2. Type of Change to be Made – Be very descriptive.
  3. Reference Track for Example

For example:

  1. Name of Song – “The Best Song In The World”
  2. Type of Change to be Made – When the lead vocal sings “it was destiny,” I want to have a delay on “destiny” so that it repeats the whole word over again in the background. I like analog delays for their special sound, so that would be ideal, just as long as it doesn’t sound too digital or bright.
  3. Reference Track for Example – I’ve attached a youtube link to a song which has the same half note analog delay I’m talking about. The example starts at 2 minutes and 10 seconds.
  1. Name of Song – “The Best Song In The World”
  2. Type of Change to be Made – The bass synth that comes in during the bridge is too quiet and I would like for it to sound rougher or grittier like is has some edge to it.
  3. Reference Track for Example – I’ve attached a soundcloud link to a song which has good example of the bass tone I like. The example starts at about 35 seconds.
